For LL in the UK
Well LL, how's your winter going. Mine is superb. This must be the tenth or twelfth winter I've spent largely here in Florida and the most I've wrapped up is to put a sweater on during the occasional cool evening, but still wearing shorts. All of this excepting my fairly brief trips to London etc and Denmark, of course.
New Hampshire is under snow and ice, as it is most years. I think I have spent part of two winters there since 2007. I hear it is icy over there along with fog, plus snow on the hills. You can hardly call them mountains compared to our ranges. So for me lovely warm/hot days, the pools here in Naples and at Sanibel and Palm Beach, plus a variety of 'company'. Add to that some photography and my writing all mixed in with some art, my boat, fishing and the now only occasional appearance on TV in Miami with the Saturday cooking programme and that's me.
Of course I spent Christmas in Hawaii and then stayed in my LA home to catch up with folk, so a little variety has been available.
I guess your winter so far has been drab, wet and cold - depressing in my book - with a hiatus in your visits to fat man, I understand. I hear, and see, that you are both filling your guts with food and booze, the last thing either of you should be doing, given your sizes.
I've changed a few cars. I have a new Lincoln and a new Lexus, here in Florida along with a nice new Mercedes. Looking to get the guys into my home here to give several rooms a makeover and redecoration later this year. I'll reside in Sanibel and Palm Beach while that takes place. Just (January 2022) had an extended stay from most of the grandchildren, which was delightful. From three to ten if I don't count Tom, who is now sixteen going on seventeen.
Update since writing the above. As you may have read, I have been in the UK recently and it looks like I will resume my European summers again. That means Italy Spain, France and Greece (Skyros). Next winter I am planning to spend sometime in Australia too. With Spring in New Hampshire and some West Coast trips to Oregon and California, I have a very pleasant year ahead of me.
I haven't been idle in completing a few blogs to ram home the fact, to you, that I had a whale of a time both before you left and after. You will find them via this link:
Ciao
